Baby Loves Disco!

Here’s your green light to go clubbin’ with the kids.

Exclusive nightclub in the heart of Hollywood, street address I can’t find, and a “bouncer” at the rope-latched entrance. Three balloons were the only clue I had the right place. “Is this Baby Loves Disco?” A nod from the bouncer directed me toward the woman checking names on the guest list. “Gipson,” she confirmed, “Come on in!”

Upstairs, Dim Mak Studio’s dimly lit lounge was lined with mom-friendly businesses offering free manicures, puppet-making, a valentine card station and temporary tattoos. The bar was fully stocked with cupcakes, fresh fruit, crackers, cheese and humus—even root beer and orange cream floats were making rounds on cocktail trays (all included with entrance fee).

But make no mistake, this is a dance club. With strobe lights, LMFAO’s “I’m Sexy and I Know It” vibrating off the walls, and a live DJ leading a “Do the Dougie” dance off, lil’ ones got their first taste of L.A. nightlife, just before naptime.

And in case you’re wondering, adult drinks were a flowin’ too (beer, wine and mixed drinks extra charge).

Baby Loves Disco is an international event. Check out their website for upcoming discos:

  1. Thanks so much for commenting everyone!

  2. I think it is a very cute idea but not sure it is a good idea to expose small ones to a “night club” atmosphere.

  3. I love that its a family fun place where the whole family can go and have fun,

  4. Sounds like something fun & different to try at least once. For me though, the whole point to clubbing is getting time off from the little ones, dressing up and playing with the grownups.

  5. Doesn’t sound like a god idea to mix small children with parents who are drinking. I certainly wouldn’t want my child dancing to “I’m sexy and I know it”. Maybe we need to remember that children are children and should be treated as such.

  6. I think its a great idea minus the alcohol and dim lighting

  7. Don’t think I like the setup. I can’t think of any reason for kids to be out partying with their parents or worse still parents taking their kids out partying with them. I’m okay with the music and dancing just not in a night club environment.

  8. Our family loves baby disco. We’ve be going to the events since 2010. When baby disco is in town out family can’t wait to dance. The set up is great. My kids love to dance. And we love the idea… It’s a family thing. We all have fun.
